The Boeing 747 is an American commercial jet airliner and cargo aircraft commonly referred to as “Jumbo Jet.” This prototype 747 was first flown on February 9, 1969, and currently sits in the Museum of Flight in Seattle for display today. The growing worldwide demand for air travel in the 1960s prompted the creation of the 747, which seats up to 374 passengers, features a height of over six stories, and has a takeoff weight of over 300 tons.
